To be able to send out an application form we will need:

  • Your full name
  • Your postal address
  • Your phone number

As we have very few homes available for letting, we only progress an application once we know that there is a possibility of housing becoming available.

If you have already applied to HFH you do not need to make an application to Quothquan Homes as you will be automatically considered for Quothquan Homes.

Quothquan Homes takes into account when reviewing applications:

Whether the applicant is financially able to afford a market rent and therefore able to access the private rented sector or is financially able to purchase an appropriate property. 

The applicant's existing accommodation, if any, its condition and suitability.  Priority is given to those who are homeless or living in insanitary, derelict or overcrowded housing conditions.

The welfare of the applicant's dependent children.  Particular consideration is given to single parents.

Where an applicant has slipped through the net and has not been allocated suitable accommodation by other housing agencies.  QH is sympathetic to those who are now "desperate", having tried and been unsuccessful with other landlords.

The size of the property available and the requirements of the various applicants.  QH seeks to ensure that each property is fully utilised.  Accordingly, we will not let a property to families where they are likely, immediately, or fairly shortly, to be under occupying the bedrooms.

The compatibility of the property available with the applicant's physical condition. 

When the applicant's economic circumstances make it difficult to obtain secure reasonable quality accommodation. 

The desire of the applicant to improve his/her quality of life and living conditions.  Where the potential tenant shows a determination to do this, the Trust seeks to provide an opportunity.

The success of this application will release a property back into the social housing sector elsewhere in the city.  If the applicant would be vacating a property owned by the Council or Registered Social Landlord this would have a roll on effect.

The current and prospective support network (whether from family, friends, caring agency or otherwise) available to the applicant.
